We believe that your intention in participating is the most important aspect. Some medications and foods can interfere with the process, but many people have participated without prior preparation.
We ask that our guests fast at least 5 hours before the ceremony.

No Medications, Drugs or other sacred plants, especially the following:
amphetamines, epinephrine, norepinephrine, ritalin, dopamine, diazepam, clonazepam, alprazolam, marijuana, peyote, shrooms, salvia divinorum, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, MDMA, DMT and weight reducing pills, for at least a week before. Please also avoid alcohol since it has a very particular and dangerous effect when mixed with the plant, that could be for at least 3 days prior, same time for sexual abstinence.

Raw fruits and vegetables are a little harder to digest, use your judgment. Drink only water or non-caffeinated teas  (Do not allow yourself to become dehydrated)

You can:
Eat lots of vegetables, salads, grains, all kinds of pasta, ceviche, sandwiches, soups, fruits, chicken, eggs, fish, honey, herbs, seeds, and teas.

Also, avoid stress situations before the ceremony and try to do some soft exercise.
High impact exercise or gym routines should be reduced to only cardio.

You shouldn’t: (or should reduce to minimum)
Red Meat, and Pork (Most important)
Spicy, fried, or too salty food
Any fast food from restaurants
Ice cream, milk, cheese, gelatos
Hot Chile, Jalapeño, Habanero, and anything that can affect your stomach.

SUGAR, aspartame, saccharin, sucralose or corn syrup. It can be replaced by natural honey or organic raw sugar in small quantities.

The diet is HIGHLY recommended for a week before and afterward for best results. Fasting: If you have a sluggish system, you may wish to fast the entire day of the event. If you suffer from hypoglycemia or are protein deficient, we do not recommend a long fast. Besides, if you suffer from any duodenal disease, peptic ulcer, heart problem, circulatory, respiratory or brain issue, the use of Ayahuasca should be discussed with a specialized doctor first.

Recent emotional breakdowns such as the death of a close family member or pet, accidents, surgeries, and relationship breakups could lead to a very strong experience. We would like you to take your time to process and then use the medicine when ready, but we respect your final decision and we don’t intend to interfere with the use that you want to give to the plant. We know medicine can help in those cases too.

Also if you have been diagnosed with a psychological condition such as Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder or Multiple Personality Disorder you should not drink Ayahuasca since that could lead to a crisis or catatonic states. Remember that you are putting your life at risk if you ignore your special condition.
